Commissioned in early 2022, Crumb-planets is a real one off, in every sense of the phrase. The finished piece combines both an A1 paint and pen artwork with a shocking-vibrant pink frame; hand finished with a thick and juicy multi-layer varnish situation. That. Shine. Though.

Mixing the commissioner’s sense of fun and silliness, with my meticulous approach to each artwork, Rosie and Tim wanted a piece to suitably mark the importance of their Saturday morning crumpet ritual at their local coffee shop. And so Crumplanets, latterly known as Crumb-planets was conceived.

With lots of exciting things on the way, the commission additionally served to mark an important year for the pair, with this in mind I wanted to incorporate a number of significant dates, initials and Easter eggs for them to find as they explore the artwork.
